PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION
Application for Admission is to be made in Prescribed Application Form along with Cash/DD of Rs. 250/- ( Rupees Two Hundred & Fifty only) as fee for Admission Test ( Non-refundable) payable in favour of “DR. K. R. ADHIKARY COLLEGE OF OPTOMETRY & PARAMEDICAL TECHNOLOGY”
SELECTION
Candidates will have to appear before a Broad of Selection Committee or an Entrance Examination will be done as per decision of the authority for selection.
SEAT RESERVATION
10% seats shall be reserved for S.C./S.T./O.B.C. candidates in each course
SESSION
The Courses are likely to commence on and from September every year.
LANGUAGE
English will be the common language. However, every effort is made by Lecturers to present their subjects in words, which are easy to understand. Lecturers would always be ready to help any student, who has not understood.
APPARATUS
The fullest opportunity will be provided to students to carry out Clinical Work themselves through each course.
UNIFORM
Students must wear their prescribed Uniform. Students of Clinical Classes must have their own White Aprons.
LIBRARY
The students will be permitted to avail themselves the facilities available in the College Library as per rules and regulations of College.
IDENTITY CARD
All students will have to obtain Identity Card duly signed by the Administrator-cum-Principal. Every Student must carry his/her Identity Card along with him/her and produce the same on demand inside the College Campuses.
DISCIPLINE
Any act of misconduct committed by student inside or outside the Campuses shall be act of violation of discipline of the college and any other act which may be considered by the management, Administrator-cum-Principal or Disciplinary Committee to be an act of violation of discipline.
PENALTIES
- Written warning and information to the Parent/Guardian
- Fine Rs. 500/- or above
- Suspension/expulsion from the Department/O.P.D. and College
- Debarring from Examination, Participation in C.M.E. Programmes
- Information to Law Enforcing Authorities
PRIVATE TUITION
Private tuition is not allowed by the Faculty Members. If special classes required, authority will arrange.
HOSTEL
At present no hostel facilities are available in college campus
ATTENDANCE
80% attendance in classes including Practical and O.P.D. duty is necessary for a collegiate student to appear in the Annual Examination. Below 80% attendance in classes will be treated as a Non-collegiate student. This category of students may be considered justified on facts and internal assessment and has to pay a requisite fees to appear the Annual Examination. Regular Periodical Examinations shall be conducted throughout the courses. In addition there shall be regular day-to-day assessment of student assignment.
EXAMINATION
The Annual Examination will likely be held on July-August every year. The Student, who will not pass in all the subjects in the Annual Examination, will not be eligible for promotion in the next year. The Student who have failed in not more than two subjects, will be allowed to appear in the Supplementary Examination on payment of requisite fee per subject in next examination. The Student of outgoing first year, who have failed not more than two subjects may enrol his/her name in the 2nd year and may appear in 2nd year examination along with Supplementary Examination.
DIVISION
- 1st Division : 60%
- 2nd Division : 50%
- Pass : 40%
COMPULSORY TRAINING IN GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL
For compulsory Govt. hospital training of 2nd year, students have to pay the requisite Govt. fees. Government hospital will issue Training Completion Certificate.
INTERNSHIP
After passing the final examination students have to complete their 6 (six) months Compulsory Internship in any Government Hospital and have to pay requisite Govt. fees as per norms.
MEMBERSHIP OF G.K.D.A.
After completion of different courses, Associate Membership of Greater Kolkata Doctors’ Association is necessary and compulsory
