Social Outreach
- In the year 2003 we started an Out Patients’ Department named ‘Dr. K.R. Adhikary Seva Pratisthan’ at 3, Bijoynagar, East Kanthalpara, Madral Road, Naihati, North 24 Parganas which was inaugurated by Dr. S. Azad, the then Editor in Chief, Indian Medical Journal. General physicians & specialist doctors regularly examine the patients & distribute free medicines as per our capability from 2 p.m. onwards in all working days except Sunday & holidays.
- From the year 2006 we started Cataract Operation with I.O.L. implantation at free of cost among poor population about 50 patients per month in collaboration with Rotary Hooghly Eye Hospital.
- On 11th February, 2009 we started an “Out Patients’ Department” in our College building with all facilities like Dr. K. R. Adhikary Seva Pratisthan, Naihati. Prof. Dr. Arabinda Kumar Das, the then Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University of Kalyani inaugurated this O.P.D. and Dr. Tapas Kumar Banerjee, the then Joint Director of Health Services (Administration), Govt. of West Bengal ornamented the chair of Guest-in-chief at inaugural session.
- In collaboration with University of Kalyani we started “Mother & Child Care Unit and Mobile Health Unit” on 7th March, 2010 for the interest of poor and backward class of people of Nadia and surrounding districts which was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Alok Kumar Banerjee, the then Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University of Kalyani.
- With a desire to work among the mentally & physically challenged population we started “Astha” – a school for mentally challenged population on 2nd July 2010 at North 24 Parganas which was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Alok Kumar Banerjee, the then Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University of Kalyani.
- We do arrange different seminars to upgrade and refresh knowledge among the health professionals & social workers and to educate women on health & legal matters and rights of women in the society. We arrange different awareness campaigning in rural & slum areas and also conduct socio-medical meeting to improve the doctor and medical professionals – patients’ relationship.
- We do arrange Free Medical Camps with free medicines & investigations, Baby Shows cum awareness programme in semi urban, rural & slum areas.
